The Bash!

We had beautiful weather today for little man's party. He took about a four hour nap before hand and just enjoyed every minute of the day. As you can see from the pictures, the cake was a big hit as well as the diving sticks that Gammie gave him. Thank you to everyone that came out to help celebrate this special day.

1:09 A.M.

Big Bird is done. He took four hours to decorate. I think this may be the best one I have made and that is not really saying much. :)

Happy 1st Birthday Ace Man!

It seems as if Ace has been with us longer than a year. He has been such a blessing to our family. He cracks us up everyday and it has been so much fun watching Ace and Ansley grow up together.

When I first met Ace (or Gavin as we called him then), I was exhausted. I had been up for almost 48 hours due to the fact that I had so much extra fluid in my body. Two gallons to be exact. I don't remember very much, but I do remember his nice dark skin, red lips, and how he automatically fell asleep right beside me. It seemed as if he had always been with us. That first night, he just slept right beside me and has been a happy and calm baby from then on. And now, he is a nutjob! No cuddling for this little guy, just happy and constantly on the go.

Little man, we love you very much and Happy Birthday!

Happy First Birthday Ace-Man

AK went to Freeport with Aunt Beth and Grammie to get Ace a present for his birthday.

Dirty Ace

Ace shows us his ears and tongue.

It's official...Potty Training has begun.

While I was putting Ace to bed tonight, Brent had AK sitting on her potty. After some coaxing, she finally peed. Of course, when we made a big deal about it, she started crying. She hates it when you tell her that she has done a good job or show her any kind of praise. So we started booing and telling her bad job and she stopped crying. It's very strange, but hey, it's what works for her.

Not wanting to have her picture taken. Check out the retro t-shirt. This was mine when I was two.

Dad's Little Helper

Ace watched Brent cut the grass yesterday and loved it. He loved it so much that he helped Dad himself. I'm sure when he is 12, he won't be this enthusiastic about mowing the lawn.

The Fish

The fish now named Big Dog and Peacock are still alive. Here is AK showing them off.

We Got Fish

Refusing to look at the camera.

Watching the fish swim.

So proud to be feeding her fish.

Today, I went to the dirty mart to get a few things. I was making my way over to get my eye make-up remover (which I never did purchase), we stopped to see the fish. Somehow, Mom got suckered into buying two goldfish. We tried for about 20 min to get someone to help us, but of course, no one showed up. So after listening to Ace yell for the 10th time, I quickly put some water in a bag, treated it, and managed to get the cabinet open and grab up two goldfish. When I went to checkout, the cashier noticed that the "Fish Lady" did not write the UPC code on the bag for the fish and that it was really strange because she was really good about that. She then proceeded to ask me if I knew who got the fish for me. I had to fess up that I took the fish out of the tank. Then in front of my kids, she said, "Well, I hope to God they don't die." WHAT????? I don't even think AK knows what it means to die and I sure did not want to explain that to her in the express line at Walmart. I took a deep breath and told the gal that the fish were 28 cents a piece, but no, she had to have that freaking UPC code. After about 10 min in line, we walked away with the fish.
They are sleeping in her room tonight. Please Lord, let them be alive in the morning.

Meet AK's fish sweetly named Dad and AK.

Uncle Ben and Aunt Jo Took AK and Ace Fishing

We went fishing at the lake today. We didn't catch anything, but had lots of fun. The ice cream we got at the end didn't hurt either.
