Playdate with Julia and Janelle

This weekend, AK and I went to see our friends Julia and Janelle. The girls had a fun time and here are a few pictures.

Ace Man is walking

Well our little man turned 9 months old this weekend and we found out today that he has been holding out on us in the walking department. Just now he walked about 9 steps to get to me and he did a really good job. He is almost waving hello/goodbye and is babbling quite a bit. He is almost sleeping 12 hours at night and still loves to be whereever Ansley is. He is teething this week, so we have some cold symptoms but other than that, he is doing great. It's POTTY time!

So we have been talking about going to the potty and reading THE NEW POTTY book from the library. So last night at Walmart, we purchased new princess panties. And today, we bought a princess potty. Wish us luck on this journey..Two in diapers is getting expensive!

Ok, so we all know that Brent can bake, but he has outdone himself this time. This week while we were on Winter Break, he made a strawberry-lime cake. Homemade icing and fresh strawberries make this cake fabulous. A upscale version of strawberry shortcake. This cake would be great to serve at a 4th of July celebration.

Oh, and Brent wanted me to make sure to let everyone know that he is not American League (see rickandbubba.com for definition). Not that there's anything wrong with that. He's just amazing in the kitchen.

Uncle Shawn gave Ansley her own desk to keep her drawing supplies in for her birthday. The other day, she was sitting in it and saying over and over, "Thank you Uncle Shawn and Aunt Bef (Beth)." She loves this desk. We keep it in the kitchen so we can close the doors and keep Ace away from here when she is playing school. Uncle Shawn did a great job restoring the desk!

Off To Our Check-ups

Today Ansley went in for her 2 year check-up and Ace went in for his 9 month check-up. Let's start off with AK. I thought I had prepared her enough so she would not puke, but I was wrong. It started off very well I thought, when she requested a "Cape" Ie a Johnny. But then it went downhill from there. She puked just after they weighed her. Luckly she had not eaten in over 6 hours. The Dr. even gave us a prescription to numb her arms for her next shots. She also did not get the flu shot because the Dr. did not want to upset her even more. Poor girl. She weighed 28 pounds and we did not get a clear height measurement because she refused to lay down. But she is a very healthy little girl and we do not have to go back for a year.

Ace man weighed 23 pounds (yes 5 pounds less than his sister) and I can't remember how much he had grown. He was on target developmentally and had to get two shots. Only cried for a bit for those Mr. Tough Man. He goes back in three months.

Mom was worn out after the Dr.'s today. Ansley wanted two treats afterwards. An ice-cream cone and to go to Gammie's house.
