Strawberry-Lime Layer Cake

I had a request for the recipie, so I'll post it.

CAKE
1 box white cake mix (and the water, oil, and eggs it calls for)
2 tablespoons grated lime peel (might want to add more. Didn't really taste the lime)

FILLING AND FROSTING
1 qt (4 cups) fresh strawberries
1/2 cup butter, softened
4 cups powered sugar
1 1/3 cups whipping cream

Heat oven to 350
Make cake mix as directed add lime to batter. Divide batter between 8 or 9 in. pans.
Bake as directed and let cool 1 hour before frosting.
reserve 3 whole strawberries for garnish. Cut remaining strawberries into thin slices. Finely chop enough
strawberries to equal 1/2 cup.
In a medium bowl, beat butter with an electric mixer on low for 30 seconds to soften, the beat on high to make fluffy. Add that 1/2 cup chopped strawberries and powered sugar and beat until frosting is fluffy. Divide into fourths.

With a long sharp knife split each cooled cake layer in half. Place 1 layer, cut side up, on serving plate. Spread with 1/4 of the frosting and half sliced strawberries. Add second layer, cut side down. Spread 1/4 frosting. Add third layer, cut side up. Spread 1/4 frosting and rest of sliced straweberries. Add remaining layer and frost.

Finally, beat whipping cream with electric mixer on high until stiff peaks form. Then, frost the sides of cake with the cream. Refrigerate at least an hour before serving.

Make sure you store the cake in the fridge.
