To the Pleasant Grove Crowd...

I'm sure some of you have seen the new website that Hueytown has started. If you haven't seen it you should go check it out at - www.hhsgophers.ning.com. This site has really grown and looks like a great way to keep in touch with old buddies!

There is now a similar website for Pleasant Grove! Go to www.pghsspartans.ning.com and join up. This could be a great way to keep in touch and reach people for reunions etc. Don't forget to tell your P.G. friends. :)

Strawberry-Lime Layer Cake

I had a request for the recipie, so I'll post it.

CAKE
1 box white cake mix (and the water, oil, and eggs it calls for)
2 tablespoons grated lime peel (might want to add more. Didn't really taste the lime)

FILLING AND FROSTING
1 qt (4 cups) fresh strawberries
1/2 cup butter, softened
4 cups powered sugar
1 1/3 cups whipping cream

Heat oven to 350
Make cake mix as directed add lime to batter. Divide batter between 8 or 9 in. pans.
Bake as directed and let cool 1 hour before frosting.
reserve 3 whole strawberries for garnish. Cut remaining strawberries into thin slices. Finely chop enough
strawberries to equal 1/2 cup.
In a medium bowl, beat butter with an electric mixer on low for 30 seconds to soften, the beat on high to make fluffy. Add that 1/2 cup chopped strawberries and powered sugar and beat until frosting is fluffy. Divide into fourths.

With a long sharp knife split each cooled cake layer in half. Place 1 layer, cut side up, on serving plate. Spread with 1/4 of the frosting and half sliced strawberries. Add second layer, cut side down. Spread 1/4 frosting. Add third layer, cut side up. Spread 1/4 frosting and rest of sliced straweberries. Add remaining layer and frost.

Finally, beat whipping cream with electric mixer on high until stiff peaks form. Then, frost the sides of cake with the cream. Refrigerate at least an hour before serving.

Make sure you store the cake in the fridge.

We just love these kids..

Our kids are so funny and just crack us up all the time. We are really enjoying being parents. We are so blessed.

Ace is walking a lot now with his little walker and I think in about a month, he will have the walking thing down. He loves to carry around his puffs bottle and yells all the time trying to communicate with us. Still a very happy baby and loves to be with his sister.

Ansley is talking so much now and repeats everything we say. As many of you know, Brent and I call each other bugs. Something we have done since our early days of dating. Well, when Brent is upstairs and I need him to bring something down, I will open the door to our stairs and yell, "Hey Bugs, could you please bring...". Well now when Brent is upstairs and Ansley wants to talk to him, she will open up the door to the stairs and say, "Hey Bugs" just like me!! Too funny. She is also calling us by our full names now, Jamie Watson and Brent Watson. She will say, "Where is my Jamie Watson." She is quite the character.

Enjoy a few pics!

Ansley Gets A Prize

This past weekend, Ansley went in the potty for the first time so she got to pick a prize. She wanted to play with my make-up as her reward so here are a few pictures.
